Abstract
The dissertation analyzes the influence of managerial leadership of organizations providing social services in the adoption of a new management quality system. The role of managers is particularly important in the implementation of a quality management system, as proper management obliges the employees of social service organizations to strive for quality and continuously improve it, and to ensure the quality of services to service recipients, taking into account individual needs. The scientific literature highlights the relationship between successful implementation of quality management and leadership, demonstrating the ability of managerial leadership to create a vision and promote change in the organization. The dissertation analyzes the theoretical aspects of managers’ adoption of a quality management system, revealing rational, institutional, and innovative factors of leadership expression. Based on theoretical and empirical research, a model of the influence of managerial leadership of social service organizations in the adoption of the European Quality in Social Services (EQUASS) in an organization is presented. It was found that managerial leadership of social service organizations is based on the transformational leadership expression and encourages employees to get involved in the process of EQUASS implementation, and that managers’ adoption of EQUASS and the implementation of new management practices and social work methods in the organization depends on the managerial leadership skills. It should be noted that managerial leadership characteristics most prominently highlight the expression of rational, innovative, and social capital factors, while the expression of institutional factors has a negative dependence on managerial leadership characteristics.
