Abstract
By focusing on the application of 6 Sigma this paper analyses the process of human resource
management in Vilnius city municipality administration. With increasing requirements to
servants and employees of public institutions, the main attention should focus on unnecessary
activities and the elimination of wastes. The purpose of article is to analyze the process of
human resource management and to identify the criteria which would improve the management
of human resources. According to the scientific literature analysis and qualitative research
results of Vilnius City Municipality Administration, the article introduces wastes of the human
resources management process and gives practical suggestions - how to improve the process of
human resources management.
