Abstract
In this dissertation social technologies and their role in contemporary sočiety are analizes as well as possibilities to apply social technologies for a better direct residents‘ participation in public governance decision-making process are explored. Dissertation defends that effective direct participation of the residents in the public governance decision-making process can be improved with these measures: 1. Adapting integrated social technologies encompassing IST model, which, in order to create conditions to form unique decision-making process’ scenarios for a better direct participation, in the context of collective intelligence system conjoins the following components: (a) focal points for effective residents’ participation in the public governance decision-making process, (b) expanded rational decision-making stages, and (c) different social technologies; 2. Overall coordination of the public governance decision-making process in five areas: participants, participation means, participation objectives, satisfaction with participation, assessment of the effect of the participation to the process; 3. In order to choose proper means for each participation process in public governance decision-making process, it is necessary to consider the existing communication infrastructure, and to coordinate participation means with the participants for each process separately as well.
