One of the many individual needs, with its fundamental importance in individual’s and society’s life, can be met with the help of physical training means by developing physical and spiritual powers and abilities. The main task of the future statutory officers’ physical development is their preparation for future career, which is the service in the divisions in the system of Internal Affairs, with the help of applied professional physical preparation means and methods, thus meeting its institutional framework’ s interest to ensure public safety. However the social interest to produce a harmonious and full-fledged personality, healthy and physically hardened youngsters is equally important, therefore it is necessary to promote students’ physical activeness, develop healthy lifestyle skills, so that physical self-education would become not only a habit, but also strong need. While forming the value aspect of this activity, hedonistic (personal desires are met, pleasure is experienced) and recreational (physical activeness during leisure time) impact of physical training it is expedient to use it as motivation aspect, which promotes the inclusion of physical activity as an object of professional community’s social life, recognizing the value of physical self-education. This article summarizes the research-survey data. The goal of this research is to evaluate Mykolas Romeris University’s Public Safety faculty’s students’ approach to physical self-education and physical activeness. By the method of questionnaires 101 students were questioned. The research data confirmed that the approach of the students, which are future statutory officers, to physical training its values is positive. Most of the students that participated in the research perceive the impact of physical self-education and sports on personality perfection, treat physical training as a means of harmonizing psycho-physical state of health, are willing to follow the recommended regular physical activeness, and devote plenty of time to physical exercises. Research results revealed the approach of the future statutory officers’ to physical training and physical activeness, motivating factors, the selected forms and ways of students’ physical activeness, which can be treated as premises for students’ physical self-education, and also allow to evaluate whether the university affords ground and favorable conditions for students’ physical education.
