Viešojo saugumo fakulteto studentų nuostatos ir pasirengimas filosofijos dalyko studijoms
The investigation was carried out in October 2011. 104 students, who had started philosophy subject, of the 1st and 2nd course of Public Security Faculty participated in the survey. The average age of the inquired is 19,1 years; 47 female and 57 male. Computer program SPSS 16.0 was used for analysis. The analysis of results was based on references reconstruction logical and statistical analysis and the methods of generalization. The collected results let evaluate students’ attitude towards philosophical studies, tendencies of attitudes and expectations as well as their dynamics and interaction in a quantitative aspect. The results of the investigation have shown that 51,9% of students have no strong attitudes towards the studies of separate subjects. Possible reasons are as follow: the priority is given to specialty subjects and practical skills; philosophy studies in the 1st course are too early; preconceived notion of some respondents. The investigation has revealed the interaction between the trust of possibilities, good assessment expectations and earlier achievements of a student: learning results of secondary school and passing to a state funding place. On the other hand, the analysis of results let us conclude that the order of getting a state funding place in higher institutions (valid at the moment of surveying) does not stimulate student’s attempts in the process of studying.
