In this article it is discussed how medical and pharmaceutical wastes are managed, how these regulations are implemented in medical facilities, wholesale distribution of medical products, pharmacies, and how pharmaceutical wastes are collected from residents. Pharmaceutical wastes are a specific type of wastes, most of which are hazardous due to biological and chemical factors. Improper handling or unsafe removal of wastes with a small infectious or chemical features, remains probability of many negative consequences: environment (air, soil, water) pollution, blood-borne infections (hepatitis B and C, HIV), poisoning, birth defects, allergies infectious diseases and so on. In order to protect the environment, human and animal health from the potential hazards, it is important to ensure that medical wastes are managed properly.
