Abstract
The present dissertation addressed the problem formulated for the purpose of the study – the method
for an assessment of the impact of the retail trade internationalisation process upon the attitudes
of consumers. Part I of the dissertation examines the concepts of the theory and the process of the
retail trade internationalisation, their development and the interaction with attitudes of consumers.
The paper theoretically substantiates the groups of factors of indirect and direct factors, and their
elements. Part II of the dissertation summarises the studies and surveys in the area of retail trade
internationalisation, and provides a model and the methodology for an integrated assessment of the
impact upon consumers. Part III of the dissertation summarises the results of the expert survey and
an empiric study by applying the model for an integrated assessment of the retail trade internationalisation
upon the attitudes of consumers. The dissertation is completed with the conclusions and
recommendations regarding further areas of studies, the list of references and the Annexes.
