Aplinkos objektų magnetinių savybių tyrimas atskleidžiant nusikaltimus

Samples of different objects (wood, rubber, grass meal, soil and stones) have been investigated by the electron paramagnetic spin resonance (ESR). It has been established that objects of the same type (e.g. soil) have a large variety of parametres of ESR spectra. An object under investigation can be described and identified by grouping the parametres. When using the ESR method, the sample is not damaged; in fact, it is not even harmed at all which allows to apply other investigation methods to the same sample or to keep it as material evidence. Model experiments proved that in most cases it is quite simple to establish what/whom the sample belongs to or from where it has been taken. Even though the ESR method is not a micwanalysis method, it can simplify the investigation to be carried out by law and order officers.
