Abstract

When people migrate between states, employment relations between subjects which belong to several jurisdictions emerge. In such case it becomes unclear, law of which state – employee's, employer's or other – should be applied to regulate such employment relations. Iron curtain which separated Lithuania from the west has fallen relatively not long ago, therefore this issue became urgent to us recently. This article reviews how issue of applicable law in international employment relations is resolved in the law of Republic of Lithuania, what gaps, contradictions or questionable regulation it includes. There is a review of solution of this issue in the law of European Union which becomes more and more urgent to Lithuania as well.
