Kai kurios pirmųjų Lietuvos konstitucijų istoriografijos problemos
Abstract
Various inaccuracies, mistakes and debatable opinions concerning the first Constitutional Acts
of the Lithuanian State of 1918-1920 are dealt with in the article.
The most important shortcomings of this kind the author considers the following: inaccurately
given names of the signatories to the provisional Constitution of 1918, the treatment of the Presidium
of the Council of the State of Lithuania as the legislative institution, the groundless rejection of the
first amendment to that Constitution, the treatment of the changes made in April, 1919 as the second
independent Constitutional Act, the references to the text of the Constitution virtually not contained in
the source, the wrong indication of the date of the adoption of the Provisional Constitution of 1920 by
the constituent Seimas.
The author presents his arguments and his own version concerning the issues discussed in the
article.
