Vaikų ir jaunimo globos namų auklėtinių ir vaikų, gyvenančių su abiem tėvais, emocinių ir elgesio problemų ypatumai
Abstract
The social, emotional and behavioural adjustment of 128 adolescents (13-17-year-old) in long-term residential group care in Lithuania was compared with group of 272 adolescents of the same sex brought up in two-parent families. Questionnaire measures (Youth Self Report and Child Behavioural Check List, T. M. Achenbach, 1991) were used. On both parent/teachers and youth scales the group care children showed significantly higher levels on all problem scales: they score higher on anxiety/depression, withdrawal, psychosomatic problems, aggression, delinquency and attention problems. Clearly, traumatic events experienced in early childhood and further long-term residential care have a damaging effect in various developmental domains.
