Despite various social, economical, political and legal changes that have occurred since 1992 when the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania was enacted, the socio-economical, political and legal status of children as a social object is not satisfactory in the society in Lithuania. The legal and social status of children in Lithuania is discussed in the context of their social reality presupposed by the Constitutional provisions concretized by administrative legal norms. The article discusses the process of the creation of the legal basis for children’s rights during the period of the enactment of the Constitution to this day. 1.
