The article addresses the issues regarding the training of lawyers under the circumstances of globalization. Three main issues are discussed in detail: 1) the social relevance of lawyer training; 2) the need to intensify the corporate development of professional training; 3) the corporate nature of lawyer training and the need for its development. The current social urgency of lawyer training is based on several interrelated factors: the metaregulatory functions of the law and the interaction between market regulation and the commercialization of democracy. This interaction gives birth to new regulatory principles - fruitful cooperation, mutual integration and constant fluctuation, all of which both interact with the old regulatory principles of the Western civilization and transform their social significance. The formative process of new regulatory principles modifies the social role of the law: contemporary societies have to become aware of the law as a social institution rather than as an instrument of social management which the governmental institutions tend to make absolute. Within the context of democracy and rapid social changes, the vitality of the law should be based on the relationship between communal organizations and the law rather than the link between the state and the law. The attempts to overcome the conflict between laws and the collective rules of social behavior that have informal legal power bring out the necessity: 1. to train lawyers-researchers who would specialize in the knowledge and understanding of social processes and would assist a legislator. 2. to enhance the legal education of the society so that the gulf between society’s subject-related legal culture and the country’s object-related legal culture is diminished. 3. to train specialists of legal education and legal consultants capable of helping society to adequately formulate and represent their interests in non-judicial institutions.
