Based on the original sociological research "Age discrimination in the public sector", In this article the conception of age discrimination in the public service is discussed. The first part of the article highlights the methodological questions of empirical survey. The second part is based on the empirical data and addresses how public servants understand age discrimination. The results of the survey show that the cognitive axiological attitude of social servants towards age discrimination varies, just as the level of identification of different expressions of age discrimination in day-to-day work relations. Moreover, a matter of concern is the unwillingness of persons who have experienced age discrimination to make it public. It shows that persons who have complained intend to complain about discrimination do not feel sufficiently safe.
