Abstract
The European Union is heavily dependent on energy sources imports and high energy prices have a negative impact on its competitiveness. Therefore, in 2009 and 2010 the European Union has adopted numerous decisions and legislation related to the energy sector. One of the main objectives - to ensure uninterrupted, reasonably-priced energy supply to all customers and to increase energy efficiency. This article analyzes whether the Member States properly transfer Energy directives and identifies certain patterns. The first part of the article discusses energy directives; the second and the third parts - analyze the actions of Commission against the Member States, which failed to implement Energy directives. The performed analysis showed what procedures are started mainly against the new member states because of not implementation of directives, the claims in the EUCJ are only because of non-implementation of Electricity and Gas directives.
